YWCA Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Resource Center
The YWCA Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is a community resource for strengthening connections between women, their families, friends and the organizations that provide services and support to women.
Our work dates back to 1867 when a group of caring and perceptive women gathered for prayers and to sew for the suffering families of Union soldiers. As times have changed, so has the mission of the YWCA. One phrase has, however, remained in the mission through the years: ‘peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people.’ It is the ingenious and flexible application of this phrase that has advanced the YW over the last 150 years — and that positions the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh as a relevant community organization for present-day women and their families.
