Tai Chi for Health Pittsburgh was founded in 2012 by Gurney Bolster to provide safe, accessible tai chi programs in the Pittsburgh area. Tai Chi for Health Pittsburgh features the work of Dr. Paul Lam, a family physician and internationally acclaimed tai chi master who has created a variety of beginner sets to help empower people to improve their health and wellness through the practice of tai chi.

Among Dr. Lam’s signature beginner sets taught are: Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control to promote balance, flexibility and self-confidence; Tai Chi for Rehabilitation provides a gentle path for recuperation and stress relief; and Tai Chi for Energy adds complexity and vitality. Classes are also available in traditional Sun style 73 forms allowing students to deepen their tai chi skills to enhance endurance, concentration, strength and tranquility. Classes are geared to adults of all ages and abilities.

All classes are taught by Gurney Bolster, M.A., Dance/Movement Therapy, and Senior Trainer for Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute. Classes are offered in Mt. LebanonBethel Park, McMurray and Wexford.
