Penn Hills is a tree-lined suburban community of 46,809 residents (2000 census) located ten miles east of the City of Pittsburgh. It is the most populous suburb of Pittsburgh and the second most populous community in Allegheny County.

The Penn Hills Library strives to be a welcoming community center that provides information and equitable access to space, collections, materials, programs and services that enrich the quality of life and facilitate lifelong learning.

The Penn Hills Library is a community library with a twist, offering a wide variety of events and activities for everyone in the family, including book clubs, teen movie nights, meet-the-author chats and wide-ranging exercise classes such as: Yoga, TaiChi, Zumba, Body Toning, Djembe drumming.
