Let’s Move Pittsburgh is a collaborative effort of local organizations committed to improving children’s health in our region by educating parents, caregivers and professionals about the benefits of eating more nutritiously, increasing physical activity and decreasing screen time.

Let’s Move Pittsburgh offers a variety of resources and opportunities to support healthy eating and physical activity in early childcare settings, schools, healthcare settings, communities and the food/beverage industry.

New for 2020-21 – Virtual 5-2-1-0 Partners Program!

Let’s Move Pittsburgh is launching our virtual 5-2-1-0 Partners Program for the 2020-2021 cycle. The 5-2-1-0 Partners Program engages community partners to create, continue or expand upon their efforts to form environments that support healthy lifestyles. Modeled after the nationally acclaimed Let’s Go! program in Maine, this evidenced-based framework emphasizes four key messages for children’s health: 5 servings of fruits and vegetables, 2 hours or less of recreational screen time, 1 hour or more of physical activity, and 0 sugary drinks every day.

As part of this initiative, we are offering virtual health and nutrition workshops for educators, administrators, parents, caregivers and healthcare providers. Additionally, we are offering virtual cooking classes, physical activity classes, speaker series sessions, and nutrition classes for families and children. Our program is based on commitment and collaboration — there is no fee involved with our remote visits.

If you have the time and space, we kindly ask that you share our application form and updated website with your networks. If you would like to learn more about our 5-2-1-0 program and discuss ways to collaborate, I’m happy to chat! You are always welcome to e-mail me at maltieri@phipps.conservatory.org.
