Latin American Cultural Union
The Latin American Cultural Union (LACU) is a volunteer-based 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in Pittsburgh, that promotes the Latin American and Caribbean cultures and create strategies to increase the visibility of our community in the region.
This year, LACU has developed a community-based wellness program called Camino a la Salud-Walking to Health. The program caters to both Latinos and non-Latino locals. It’s objectives are to promote physical activity and healthy living behaviors. In addition to wellness, this program aims to promote community building in the region. The program will begin on July 16th at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh East Liberty branch.
A similar program(Dancing4Health) was carried out in 2014. The objective of LACU is to continue promoting wellness in the Latino community, as well as community building, through programs like Camino a la Salud.
