Community Symposium – A full day symposium which shares health care information and provides health screening for the minority community. Physicians provide information on multiple health topics.

Provider Symposium – This Symposium is to increase awareness of healthcare disparities and how we can address them in the Pittsburgh Community. We invite our community partners to join us in a day long discussion on how to “Close the Gap” in healthcare disparities.

Physician of the Year/Scholarship Gala – Gateway Medical Society is over fifty years old. This year we will honor two Gateway physicians as physicians of the year. This is our opportunity to award scholarships to African American Medical students at the University of Pittsburgh to help them with the financial burden of medical school cost.

Journey to Medicine Youth Mentorship Program – This program is our opportunity to encourage African American students, starting in middle school, to become physicians. We mentor and sponsor them in what is needed to succeed in their desire to become physicians. This is our sixth year with over ninety students enrolled.
