Our next sessions of Take a Break will be held at Robin Hill Park in Moon Township (949 Thorn Run Road, Moon, PA 15108)  for four consecutive Saturday mornings, 9:30 AM-12:00 PM: July 13th, 20th, 27th, and August 3rd. We will also be holding our Fall sessions October 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.

Registration is required by responding to this email or calling Hope Grows (412-369-4673) with the dates you would be available to attend. If you are new to the program, please contact directly. There is paperwork to fill out for your care recipient.

As a reminder, we request that you let us know at least a day beforehand if you cannot make it to a session. Please respect the consistency and timeliness of your attendance in the program, as the success of the program and its continuation is dependent upon you.

Please also note we need at least five participants to run the program, so you will be contacted with any cancellations or updates.

TFA Quarterly Coalition Meeting: Saltworks Theatre Co. presents The Choice @ Rodef Shalom Congregation

Join us for the premier showing of a new play from Saltworks Theatre Company: The Choice, where teen game show contestants are tested on their knowledge of vaping. A variety of scenes cover the science behind vaping’s impact on mental and physical health, and the way vaping is marketed to young people, A special discussion and Q&A will follow.

Health Screenings with YMCA & Duquesne University School of Pharmacy – Thelma Lovette YMCA @ Thelma Lovette YMCA

During these screenings the YMCA and Duquesne University School of Pharmacy will offer Blood Pressure, Glucose and Carbon Monoxide Screenings with Cholesterol screenings being offered every other month. These events will be open to the public and are expected to be a safe place for anyone looking for health and wellness information.

Once screened the participant will be referred to a program, Doctor or other health resource that fits that person’s needs. For example the YMCA will offer participants entry into the Diabetes Prevention, Smoking Cessation or Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Programs while Duquesne will offer to get them connected to a local Primary Care Physician, other health care providers or resources.
